The World is divided into armed camps
ready to commit genocide just because we can't agree on whose fairy tales to believe.

-- Televangelist and McCain endorser John Hagee
"Americans must be 'Christocrats' -- citizens of both their country and the Kingdom of God"; "And that is not a democracy; that is a theocracy"; "That means God is in control, and you are not."

If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier -- so
long as I'm the dictator.
--George W. Bush, Dec. 19, 2000
I hope I live to see the day when, as in
the early days of our country, we won't have any public schools. The churches will
have taken them over again and Christians will be running them. What a happy day that
will be!
-- Rev. Jerry Falwell
Secular schools can never be tolerated because such a school has no
religious instruction and a general moral instruction without a
religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must
be derived from faith.... We need believing people.
-- Adolf Hitler, April 26, 1933
Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society.
-- D. James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries and Bush advisor.

"The really dangerous American fascist... is the man who wants to do in the United States in an American way what Hitler did in Germany in a Prussian way. The American fascist would prefer not to use violence. His method is to poison the channels of public information. With a fascist the problem is never how best to present the truth to the public but how best to use the news to deceive the public into giving the fascist and his group more money or more power... They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution. They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest. Their final objective, toward which all their deceit is directed, is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection."
-- U.S. Vice President Henry A. Wallace, quoted in the New York Times, April 9, 1944
What did the Fascist regimes in Italy,
Germany, and Spain have in common?
They consisted of a highly militarized state, backed by corporation and
a wealthy elite, that rose to power through a false populism that exploited the
public’s fear of foreigners and "moral degenerates".
This precisely defines the formula that Karl Rove designed to
consolidate the Bush administration’s power in the recent election.
--Sean Donahue, Nov. 2004
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross."
- Sinclair Lewis
Watch out now, take care, beware of
greedy leaders,
They take you where you should not go.
-- George Harrison, Beware of Darkness
I've heard the call. I believe God wants me to run for president.
-- George W. Bush, quoted in George Magazine, September, 2000
“I would like to thank Providence and the Almighty for choosing me of all people to be allowed to wage this battle for Germany.”
-- Adolf Hitler
A person who is guided by God will never be misguided by anyone.
-- Osama Bin Laden
We’re being guided by God.
-- Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson
George Bush was not elected by a majority of the voters in the United
States. He was appointed by God.
-- Lt. Gen. William Boykin, the defense undersecretary in
charge of hunting down top terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan
Nothing [Bush] does can be challenged on moral grounds, however
unethical or evil it might appear, because all of his actions are
directed by God. He can twist the truth,
oppress the poor, exalt the rich, despoil the earth, ignore the
law--and murder children--without the
slightest compunction, the briefest
moment of doubt or self-reflection, because he believes, he truly
believes, that God squats in his brainpan and tells him what to do.
-- Chris Floyd, CounterPunch, 7/30/03
No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor
should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God.
-- George Bush Sr., to a reporter in 1988
"A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion.
Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom
they consider to be God-fearing and pious."
-- Aristotle, 343 B.C.
He [God] is using me, all the time, everywhere, to stand up for a
biblical worldview in everything that I do and everywhere I am.
-- House Majority Leader Tom DeLay

"Why is this man in the White House? The majority of Americans did not
vote for him. Why is he there? And I tell you this morning that he's in
the White House because God put him there for a time such as this."
--Lt Gen William Boykin, speaking of G. W. Bush, New York

"He [Rumsfeld] leads in a way that the Good Lord tells him is best for our country."
-- Marine General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

"Government authorities, police and the military = God's Ministers"
--Frank Bussey, director of Military Ministry at Fort Jackson
"Our purpose for Campus Crusade for Christ at the Air Force Academy is to make Jesus Christ the issue at the Air Force Academy and around the world. They're government paid missionaries when they leave here."
--Scot Blom, Campus Crusade for Christ director assigned to work at the Air Force Academy

On the proposed constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage:
"It's part of God's plan for the future of mankind," -- Rep. John Carter of Texas
"We best not be messing with His plan." -- Rep. Bob Beauprez of Colorado

Congressmen or preachers?

From a diatribe on Advertising and Bullshit:
...But in the Bullshit Department, the businessman can't hold a candle
to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell ya the truth, folks, when it comes
to Bullshit, big time, major league BULLSHIT, you have to stand in awe, in awe, of the
all time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: RELIGION! .... No contest, no contest!!
(thunderous applause)
Life is sacred? Who said so, God? Hey, if you read history you'll
realize that God is one of the leading causes of death...has been for thousands of years. Hindus,
Muslims, Christians, Jews, all taking turns killing each other because
God told them it was a good idea.
Instead of school busing and prayer in schools, which are both
controversial, why not a joint solution? Prayer in buses. Just drive these kids around
all day and let them pray their fuckn' empty little heads off.
I've begun worshipping the Sun for a number of reasons. First of all,
unlike some other gods I could mention, I can see the Sun. It's there
for me every day. And the things it brings me are quite apparent all
the time: heat, light, food, a lovely day.
There's no mystery, no one asks for money, I don't have to dress up,
and there's no boring pageantry. And interestingly enough, I have found
that the prayers I offer to the sun and the prayers I formerly offered to God
are all answered at about the same 50-percent rate.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Children are naive -- they trust everyone.
School is bad enough, but, if you put a child
anywhere in the vicinity of a church, you're
asking for trouble.
If you wind up with a boring, miserable life because you listened to
your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest or some guy on TV telling
you how to do your shit, then YOU DESERVE IT.
The essence of Christianity is told us in the Garden of Eden
history. The fruit that was forbidden was on the tree of
knowledge. The subtext is, All the suffering you have is
because you wanted to find out what was going on. You could
be in the Garden of Eden if you had just keep your fucking
mouth shut and hadn't asked any questions.
Scientology, how about that? You hold on to the tin cans and then
this guy asks you a bunch of questions, and if you pay enough money
you get to join the master race. How's that for a religion?

I had a student ask me, "Could the
savior you believe in save Osama bin Laden?" Of course. We know the blood of Jesus Christ can save him, and
then he must be executed.
-- Rev. Jerry Falwell
The "wall of separation between church and state" is a metaphor based
on bad history, a metaphor which has proved useless as a guide to
judging. It should be frankly and explicitly abandoned.
-- William Rehnquist, Supreme Court
I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you
to let a wave of hatred wash over you.
Yes, hate is good.... Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a
Biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't
want equal time. We don't want pluralism."
--Randall Terry, quoted in The News-Sentinel, Fort Wayne,
Indiana, August 16, 1993
We have no king but Jesus.
--John Ashcroft, May 8, 1999
We're going to bring back God and the Bible and drive the gods of
secular humanism right out of the public schools of America.
--Pat Buchanan, at an anti-gay rally in Des Moines, Iowa,
February 11, 1996
The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil
to keep Christians from running their own country.
-- Rev. Jerry Falwell
After the Christian majority takes control, pluralism will be seen as
immoral and evil and the state will not permit anybody the right to practice evil.
--Gary Potter, president of Catholics for Christian

The Christian community has a golden opportunity to train an army of
dedicated teachers who can invade the public school classrooms and use them to influence
the nation for Christ.
--D. James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries, 1993
The Constitution of the United States, for instance, is a marvelous
document for self-government by the Christian people.
But the minute you turn the document into the hands of non-Christian
people and atheistic people they can use it to
destroy the very foundation of our society. And that's what's been
happening.
--Pat Robertson
The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a
socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to
leave their husbands, kill their children, practice
witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.
--Pat Robertson
I think we ought to close Halloween down. Do you want your children to
dress up as witches? The Druids used to dress up like this when they
were doing human sacrifice... [Your children] are acting out Satanic rituals and
participating in it, and don't even realize it.
--Pat Robertson
Get the few liberals out. If you don't do it, it ain't gonna be done.
You will be doing the Lord's work, and he will richly bless you for it.

to
Victory Conference, 2002, Washington D.C
If I do not return to the pulpit this weekend, millions of people will go to hell.
-- Jimmy Swaggart

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

If Christ were here there is one thing he would not be -- a Christian.
-- Mark Twain
Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who
need strength in numbers. It tells people to go out and stick their noses in
other people's business. I live by the golden rule: Treat others as you'd
want them to treat you. The religious right wants to tell people how to live.
-- Gov. Jesse Ventura
Over the years I've met a handful of people who regularly talk with
God, but they usually do so only when they're off their medications.
